Our two easy-peasy papercraft projects shows you how to decorate jars for you to use to keep anything you fancy in

Not sure what to store in your pretty jars? Our suggestion? Use them to organise your craft clutter and keep out on show. On of our other favourite things to store in pretty jars is sweets! We firmly believe something so tasty needs a pretty place to live!

We think the wonderful thing about papercraft is that you get to use favourite paper designs plus it isn’t expensive to do. Simply use some old jars, in this instance, and some wrapping paper to turn old unused jars into a pretty storage solution.

You could go one step further with this simple craft project and cover the lids in fabric, tied up with ribbon for an extra-special finish.

Materials

    • Wrapping paper
    • Spray mount
    • Various jars
    • PVA glue
    • Varnish

To make your large papercraft flower jar

1. For this papercraft project, cut out individual flowers from your chosen wrapping paper, and lightly spray the backs with spray mount. This will enable you to temporarily position the flowers on to the jar, until you are happy with the layout.

2. Apply a thin layer of PVA glue to the back of each flower, then stick to the jar. When dry, apply a varnish to the flowers for protection.

To make your mini bunting jar

1. Spray the lid with a thin coat of paint. Leaving to dry between coats, apply more coats until you have an even base of colour. Leave overnight to dry completely.

2. Cut small triangles of wrapping paper to make mini bunting. Apply a thin layer of PVA glue to the front of the bunting, carefully position inside the jar and leave to dry fully before using.

All that’s left to do now is to find something to put inside them!
