The novelty design is made up of two different sized basic ball shapes that are knitted in stocking-stitch that are then sewn together, with the addition of wings, beak and eyes.
Free Easter knitting pattern: What you’ll need
He’s made using oddments of Aran yarn that you might have in your workbasket. The thicker weight yarn means he won’t take you very long to make. You can use a thinner or thicker yarn, using knitting needles sized to suit the yarn required.
Why not make one or two to give friends as an Easter treat, he’d look really cute sitting in a little eggcup or look adorable with a few chums to decorate a few twigs on a window sill as an ‘Easter Tree’. Add little tissue paper flowers to add an additional springtime feel.
Free Easter knitting pattern: Customise your chick
As an alternative idea and with a little easy tweaks you could have fun with switching the beak and wings for ears and cotton wool tail to make a little Easter rabbit instead.
