    • Brandy
    • Apricot jam
    • Ready-made marzipan to cover a 20cm (8in) round cake
    • Ready-made sugar paste to cover a 20cm (8in) round cake
    • Ready-made green sugar paste for decorating (available from most good cake-decorating shops)
    • Water for sticking
    • Icing sugar for sprinkling

Equipment:

    • Plastic cake scraper
    • Cake crimpers (for decorating, and available from most good cake-decorating shops)
    • Ribbon cut to the length of your cake
    • Chopstick
    • Scissors
