Packing is now well underway for going up to Manchester next week for the 2nd Woman’s Weekly “Live” exhibition, so here’s a sneak preview of some of the delights that are going to be created in the Woman’s Weekly Cookery Theatre.
If you were at the exhibition last year then you’ll already know our Cookery Editor, Sue and celebrity chef Paul da Costa Greaves who will be joining her in the Cookery Theatre, and this year on the Thursday and Friday we’ll be joined by Anthony Warner who is the Development Chef from OXO, who are sponsoring the cookery theatre this year.
Sue’s speciality is cupcakes, and she’ll be demonstrating how to decorate and assemble a beautiful cupcake bouquet which makes a lovely way of giving cupcakes as a gift, and is much easier to make than it looks.
And for children, there will be some fun designs to make too such as this cute pig cupcake.
If cakes aren’t your thing, then Paul will be cooking some savoury dishes. The first demonstration each day will be “Try Something New” where hopefully he’ll give you some new inspiration for everyday meals and snacks such as our Chorizo Quesedellas.
Then, in the afternoon, Paul will be demonstrating main meals which are “Under 350 Calories” which are ideal for anyone on the 5:2 diet. The Tom Yum soup is one of our favourites and is a main meal soup, which although just 295 Calories, really fills you up.
And the final demonstration each day will be some “Quick and Easy” recipes, so ideal for trying out when you get home after a long day visiting our exhibition.
The team will be busy just before each demonstration, but between demonstrations, please feel welcome to pop along to the cookery theatre to meet the team, and if you have any cookery questions they’ll do their best to try to answer them – they’re a friendly team who like to have a chat!
