It’s 1st March on Friday – so time to enjoy some Welsh-inspired St David’s Day recipes.
Hello, this is Cookery Editor, Sue, and although I’m not Welsh nor are any of the Cookery Team, we like any excuse to celebrate! So we’ll join in with all of you who will be celebrating on Friday with some St David’s Day recipes.
St David’s Day recipes: Winter Garden Gratin
We thought we’d recommend a delicious meal using leeks and this Winter Garden Gratin is a mixture of leeks and sprouts in a cheesy sauce. It’s great for getting children (and adults too) to eat more greens.
The recipe uses a mixture of Gruyere and Cheddar cheeses, but to follow the Welsh theme you could use some Organic Caerfilli, or some soft goats cheese maybe melted into the sauce such as Pant-Ysgawn Organic Welsh White Goats cheese.

And still on the subject of cheese – you could try our delicious Caerphilly Scones, delicious warm and spread with some Welsh butter.
